I knew there might be trouble when they employed both a sign spinner on the corner of 12th and Division and one of those creepy inflatable tube men to try to attract some customers into the nearly always nearly empty restaurant. I drove by many times and wondered why there weren't even enough cars for what you would assume to be a skeleton staff.
Well, a "coming soon" banner has covered up the original wooden sign that hung over the lonely front door. It promises "Thai Esane Coming Soon." I've heard of a couple of Thai spots named Thai Esan in other towns, so fingers are crossed for some good Asian food within a short walk of the Scene offices.
So what say ye, Bitesters? At the Table had a good long run as a meat-and-three at the same location, but do you think the new generation of Gulchies will walk around the corner to this location? Can you really call that location 12 South? (No.) And do inflatable tube men creep you out as much as they do me?
