Community Food Advocates' innovative fundraising program Seed Money Suppers is starting off the year with a new date and venue. Now on the second Tuesday of each month, the community meal will be hosted by The Wild Cow in East Nashville.

People who attend Seed Money Suppers pay $10 for a meal ($5 for children) and listen to local charities, activists and/or business owners make presentations about what their organization does to improve food and food security in Middle Tennessee. After mingling and listening to presentations, attendees vote for the organization they'd most like to see funded and the one earning the most votes takes home a large portion of the night's proceeds.

Last year's suppers were held at Sloco, and many of them sold out, which was a great help to the organizations that won, while giving exposure to a number of other worthy endeavors. Tonight's presenters include Nashville Grown and Lutheran Services of Tennessee's Building Healthy Families program.

Doors open for dinner at 6 p.m. and presentations start at 6:30 p.m. Get a preview of tonight's organizations on the Seed Money Suppers blog. Additional information is available on the Seed Money Suppers Facebook page.
