I've been lucky enough to enjoy some pretty amazing fried fish around town lately. Between a recent lunch at Arnold's on Catfish Wednesday and a fish taco from Sam's Sports Grill
at the Best of Nashville party that surprised the heck out of me, we've got some pretty talented fry cooks working in these here parts. So I'm anxiously anticipating a new event this Friday, Oct. 18. from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Edley's Bar-B-Que
location in East Nashville. Edley’s founders Will and Catharine Newman, along with executive chef and pitmaster Bret Tuck, are hosting a night celebrating all things Southern — with fried catfish and hot catfish dusted with their hot chicken rub, spicy collard greens, cornbread and grits casserole all served family-style.
The price for this all-you-can-eat catfish feast is a ridiculously affordable $10 per person plus tax, and there will be beer and special drinks available, such as the Southern Cider, a moonshine and apple concoction. Live blues music will be provided by local musician Andrew Pates.
For more info on what promises to be a great party, check out Edley's website or their Facebook page. It's just a shame they couldn't have done this a few weeks back when the San Diego Chargers and Manti Te'o were in town ...
