Who doesn't love a good chicken wing? (Besides Lesley, but I won't hold it against her.) A well-cooked drumette is a thing to behold and the perfect portable food at just about any time of the day. The best of Nashville's wingsters will gather in Walk of Fame Park behind the downtown Hilton this Saturday, Oct. 5, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. to crown the city's Wing King.

The Music City Southern Hot Wing Festival is a KCBS-sanctioned championship event with the winner of the competition receiving a $1,000 grand prize. Attendees will be able to taste test each and every entry for a small donation, which goes to support the official charities of the festival, The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Nashville and The Bootstrap Foundation.

It's not all about the competition, though. There will be fun for the whole family with a Hot Wing Eating Contest, silent auction, refreshing beverages from Nashville’s local breweries and performances by local bands, including Yacht Rock Revue, Gibson Cage, Preston Johnson Band, Judah & the Lion, Black Market Research and Karleigh Bullard.

Grab the whole family and head downtown to be a part of the big wingding!

Ticket Information:

In advance: $10 (available online, at Ronald McDonald House/Nashville and all Mapco locations).

At the gate: $12.50.

Children under the age of 12 admitted free.
