The Nashville Wine Auction does a whole lot more than just putting on some of the grandest wine tasting/fund raising events of the year. They also occasionally organize smaller tastings of some of their favorite winemakers to introduce them in a personal way to Nashville wine lovers. Next month, they’ve invited Thomas Duroux, the CEO and winemaker of Château Palmer for an afternoon tasting at F. Scott’s Restaurant and Jazz Bar on Friday, May 17, from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
Five Château Palmer wines to be tasted:
Alter Ego 2008, Château Palmer 2008, Alter Ego 2004, Château Palmer 2004 and
Historical XIX Century Wine L.20.07
Château Palmer is regarded by wine lovers all over the world as one of the best estates in the Margaux appellation of Bordeaux. "Vintage after vintage, the wines of Château Palmer express our vision of an exceptional wine," says Thomas Duroux, CEO of Château Palmer. "We believe Palmer is born of a mysterious trilogy: terroir, history, memory. All of our efforts are concentrated on bringing this unique combination to life vintage after vintage."
Join us for this rare opportunity with Thomas Duroux, Winemaker and CEO of Château Palmer to taste Château Palmer wines. Chef Kevin Ramquist of F. Scott's Restaurant and Jazz Bar will offer tasting portions with the wines. Stay for dinner at F. Scott's and enjoy a 20% discount on dinner.

West Meade Wine and Liquor Mart invites you to their weekly WMWLM Happy Hour Friday today where they will be enjoying New Belgium’s “Lips of Faith” series of beers from 4 until 7 p.m.
New Belgium LOF "Transatlantique Kriek" - $15.99In a never-ending quest to create new beers and defy category, New Belgium
Brewing and Brewerij Boon of Belgium have partnered together again to create
Transatlantique Kriek - spontaneously fermented lambic ale made with Polish cherries.
New Belgium LOF "La Folie" - $15.99
Flemish Sour Brown Ale fermented in stainless then transferred to barrels for 1-4 years of aging then blended to taste.
New Belgium LOF "Biere de Garde" - $9.99
New Belgium, and Michigan’s own, Brewery Vivant, each stuck a hand in the mitten for this wonderful collaboration. A bright Biere de Garde with a pale copper sheen, this beer is brewed with pale malt, and some oats for creaminess. Hopped with Sorachi Ace to reinforce the citrus bite from the bergamot addition, the Brewery Vivant Collaboration is refreshing, and strong. A hint of clove from Vivant’s house yeast brings a spice bite to the extra dry finish.
New Belgium LOF "Cascara Quad" - $9.99
Cascara Quad is a dark, strong and surprisingly delicate ale made with dates and coffee cherries. Channeling the Trappist tradition, it’s brewed with an ethereal malt bill, and spiced with the fruit of the coffee bean (cascara). The aroma brings dates, cherries and pipe tobacco right to the nose and builds layers with hints of spice and fruity Belgian yeast. Once on the palate, Cascara Quad starts swinging clove, fig and molasses. Each sip offers sweet warmth, deep complexity and fleeting dryness.
New Belgium LOF "Heavenly Feijoa Tripel" - $9.99
Heavenly Feijoa Tripel combines Dieu du Ciel!’s love of hibiscus flowers with New Belgium’s passion for strange and worldly fruit. Feijoa, also known as pineapple guava, has a sweet, aromatic flavor, which makes the aroma of Heavenly Feijoa Tripel luscious and tropical. The beer has Belgian yeast and Nelson Sauvin hops, combining to make a sweet fruit taste, mild spicy tones and a sharp bite. Hibiscus adds a cranberry tartness and an ambrosial quality to the color.
WLWLM will be offering 10% off all of these products during the tasting.
