This week's Dining review in the Scene is a little different. Two restaurant-scouting compadres, Scene general manager Jack Silverman and the editor of The City Paper, Steve Cavendish, check out Chinatown, a restaurant that has been serving the Green Hills neighborhood for more than 30 years.

There's a new ownership team at Chinatown, and the buzz has been good, especially for dinner. Not only has the interior been spruced up, but there are new, more interesting and less hackneyed dishes on the menu, like the scallion pancake appetizer and the spicy sliced pig ears.

This development leaves the dynamic dining duo to engage in a dialogue "to grapple with a question that had previously been unthinkable: Does Nashville now have a legitimately good Chinese restaurant?"

Bites Nation, would you like to chime in?
