The assembled crowd was festive and seemed generally interested in sharing fellowship while enjoying bacon-themed tastings from some of Nashville's favorite restaurants and bourbon samples from four regional distilleries. I'll admit to a fear of some over-the-top hipster bacon love (dude, get another shirt), and while there was a preponderance of plaid flannel in the room, it really seemed like a nice cross-section of the community.
The entertainment was provided by two excellent bluegrass bands, Midnight from Memphis and Stop Gap, who offered the perfect ambiance without making it too loud to converse. It was great to be able to enjoy the music without worrying about accidentally being blasted when you walked in front of the speakers.

A third "B," beer, was provided by Blackstone and Brooklyn, so I guess they might be the fourth and fifth Bs, but who's counting?
The restaurants and caterers pulled out the stops and were clearly inspired by the bacon theme. Of particular note were a Bacon & Bourbon S'more, with graham cracker, bourbon marshmallow, ancho chili and Weller candied bacon and chocolate, from {PUB}licity and a decadent pork belly sandwich served under a glass dome full of smoke, created by the mad scientists at Chef's Market.

Event organizers promised an even bigger and better festival next year, but hopefully they'll be able to keep the comfortable vibe and easy access to the tasting tables that made this year's event so enjoyable. We promise to give y'all some extra notice next year!
