Doughworks Fills a Hole in the Nashville Food Truck Scene

Posted By on Mon, Feb 4, 2013 at 1:49 PM

If you don’t follow Food Truck Junkie Julie on Twitter, you may not be aware that a new food truck hit the streets over the weekend. Doughworks Craft Doughnuts made its debut at Craft Brewed in 12South on Saturday night. The truck has four different menus to suit tastes throughout the day, but served just savory and sweet doughnuts Saturday night. The buzz on Twitter indicated that they’re worth checking out, with thumbs-up going to the Hot Chicken Doughnut and the Bourbon Maple Bacon Doughnut. Pictures on Facebook show a variety of creative doughnut hole sandwiches, more traditional doughnuts and even a chili bowl doughnut and a doughnut-wrapped hot dog (their version of the corn dog).

They have a schedule on their website, but the best place to find out where they're set up is either by following DoughworksTruck on Twitter or checking their Facebook page. Find them at Craft Brewed again tonight from 5 to 8 p.m., particularly if you want to check out that doughnut dog.

If you can't make it out this week, be sure to visit them this Saturday, Feb. 9, for the Charities Bash at the Music City Tents and Events warehouse in West Nashville. It’s a big Mardi Gras-themed party catered by Red Pony Catering whereby guests choose the charity (from a list of four) that they’d like to receive the donation of their ticket purchase funds. I recommend directing your dollars toward a favorite charity of mine, the very worthy Our Kids Center.

2013 Charities Bash
