Open Thread Has Your Valentine's Day Plan!

A semi-anonymous tipster passed along this photograph, taken at the corner of White Bridge and Charlotte. At first I laughed, assuming it was a joke, until a co-worker told me White Castle indeed has a Valentine's Day dinner, and reminded me that former Scene scribe Tracy Moore (now a regular contributor to Jezebel) had written about this very topic a couple of years ago. (I know, you are pausing to gather yourself after the shock of learning I don't remember everything on Bites.)

An excerpt from the ever-quotable Tracy's 2011 post:

Seriously, White Castle is embracing its kitschy-kicks vibe for a night of reservations-required candlelight dining inside the restaurant. It's tacky as hell, and yet, everything about the way it disregards your typical cheesy (no pun intended) high-price-tag efforts at Expressing Your Love has my support. It's low-key, it's direct, it's honest, it's affordable, it is what it is. And they've been doing it for decades, which is more than most married couples can say. Ba-dum-bum.

So Bites readers, do you even give a damn about Valentine's Day? If you're single, does it bum you out? If you're not single, do you dread the pressure? Or embrace the Hallmark moment?
