Small business craftsmen, artisans and cooks from around the country are currently competing in Martha Stewart’s American Made Awards. Ten entrants will be chosen by Martha Stewart, but there's a competition for the Audience Choice Award as well, chosen by visitors to the website. That winner will be honored at the American Made event in New York City, appear in Martha Stewart Living magazine, and receive $10,000 to support his or her business.

Nashville’s own Miley Barcus of Nashville Chocolate Kitchen — maker of Nashville Little Cakes — has entered the competition and is currently doing well in the voting, but faces some stiff competition. I’ve personally tasted Molly Moon’s ice cream (from Seattle) and can attest to its awesomeness, but it’s a maker of dog treats that’s leaving everyone in the dust. And that’s just in the food category!

So head on over to the site and cast your ballot. You can vote once a day and can vote for a different entrant each day if you choose. So even though Nashville Chocolate Kitchen could use the votes, think about giving some help to the other two Nashville-area contestants, Thistle Farms and Green Bee Design and Patterns, as well. But hurry; voting ends Sept. 24!
