This Wednesday, Sept. 19, The Turnip Truck Urban Fare in the Gulch is hosting a free beer and cheese tasting from 6 to 9 p.m. The beer will be provided by New Belgium, featuring Fat Tire amber ale, 1554 black ale, Somersault ale, Shift pale lager, Sunshine Wheat, and Blue Paddle Pilsner-Lager.

New Belgium representative Sarah Brann will be in the house to provide information about each beer and the brewing process, as well as food pairing suggestions for each variety. If you find something you like and buy at least a six-pack, you'll also receive some free swag like pint glasses and coozies. It goes without saying that you must be at least 21 to participate in the beer tasting.

But even the kiddies can participate in the cheese sampling from local favorite Kenny's Farmhouse Cheese located in Austin, Ky. Jennifer Starks will take tasters through a selection of some of Kenny's best, including Norwood, Kentucky Rose, St. Jerome, Aged Cheddar and Gouda.

So stop in, do some grocery shopping, try out some brews and discover a new favorite cheese. Tell them Bites sent you!
