I mentioned this in the comments on Lesley's article last month, but I got to see the screener of the new Cooking Channel series Eden Eats, and Nashville comes off really well in the episode. It premieres at 9 p.m. this Friday, Aug. 17, and features Eden Grinshpan, a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu who takes viewers on tours of the international food scene in various cities.

As I said in the comments (in case y'all don't read those):

Patti Myint steals the show in the opening segment as she hauls Eden around the kitchen at International Market while they make and consume her famous house salad together. I'm anxious to visit Somalia, the second restaurant in the episode, which is on Lafayette near Purity. She also goes to Cafe Bosna, McNamara's, and two Kurdish and Ghanian markets. It was really entertaining and enlightened even an old locally-bred food writer like me to some new places to check out. Set your DVRs now!

Here's a slide show of some of the highlights of Eden's Nashville odyssey, and you can find out where she's heading and even get a recipe for Hungarian goulash here.
