The Sugar Rush is the sweetest competition in town. Literally. Picture scores of bite-sized treats — cupcakes, candy, chocolate, doughnuts, ice cream, yogurt, gelato, pie, etc. — and a full bar to wash them down with. As a Sugar Rush attendee, you get to vote on your favorite and help determine who shall be crowned Nashville’s Sweetheart.
The event will be held at the Cannery Ballroom on Wednesday, July 25, from 6-8 p.m. Last year’s sold-out inaugural Sugar Rush featured local favorites including Colt’s Chocolates, Fox’s Donut Den, Olive and Sinclair Chocolate, Pied Piper Creamery, The Bang Candy Co., IveyCake, Buzzy’s Candy Store and 2011 winner The Cupcake Collection. Reigning queen and Cupcake Collection founder Mignon Mignon François will return to defend her crown, along with competitors Nucci’s Gelato, Whole Foods, Goo Goo Cluster, Pinkberry, Jeni’s Ice Cream and Tipsy Treats.
Tickets, which include two drink tickets and all the sweets you care to eat, are only $15 and are available here. In the meantime, friends, we ask of you, what is your favorite dessert in Nashville? What do you splurge on, drive across town for, or blow your diet on?
