Share Our Strength Dinner at The Hermitage Hotel
As Chris Chamberlain told you last month, this Sunday, July 15, Chef Tyler Brown of the Capitol Grille is hosting a No Kid Hungry dinner with guests chefs to raise money for Share Our Strength, which works to end childhood hunger in this country. Individual tickets are $200 each, and for that, you get a multi-course dinner with wine pairings created by some of the most talented chefs in the South. And you can feel good about where the money’s going, too. Get your tickets here. But you better hurry — Chris tells me that the event is nearly sold out!
Early's Honey Stand Autism Gift Basket
Curt and Curtis Gibbs of Early’s Honey Stand recently finished up the Vintage Car Rally Association’s Race for Autism, an event that raised money for a variety of charities benefiting autism research. To raise more funds, the Gibbses have created the Autism Gift Basket filled with locally made foods sold through their online store. The basket also includes a set of cards designed by Kelsey Scott, a friend of the Gibbses who lives in Spring Hill and has autism and Down syndrome. This gift basket will be available throughout the summer — send a little bit of Tennessee to a friend and help fight autism at the same time.
March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction
And go ahead and mark your calendar for this year’s March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction. This year’s event will take place Sept. 10 at the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs. No details on participants yet, but events in years past have featured some of the finest food in the area.
Check out their event page for more information about attending or participating in the event. The March of Dimes works to improve the health of babies by funding research and programs to prevent birth defects, premature births and infant mortality.
Any other events coming up that I may have missed? (Apologies for the slant toward kids; I'm a bit biased.)
