Fortunately, they've finally managed to get a little bit ahead of their production and have actually shipped some stock to the big city. This means that they're ready for a big coming out party. On July 17 at City House, Short Mountain and the folks over at Drink Music City are throwing a hoedown with special cocktails devised by mixologist extraordinaire Stephanie Melidis, bluegrass music and a whole hog prepared by the PegLeg Porker himself, Carey Bringle.
Ordinarily, these launch events are for the trade only, and this party will primarily be to introduce the product to on and off-premise liquor retailers. But there will be a few special invited guests as well, and we here at Bites have managed to wangle two pairs of tickets for some of you lucky readers. If you'd like a chance to be a part of the party, just submit your best caption for this photo and we'll let the hosts at Drink Music City pick two winners. The deadline for entering will be this Wednesday, July 11, at noon, so put on your drinking caps. Err ... thinking caps.
Note: Speaking of Short Mountain and Drink Music City, frequent Bites commenter and culinary gadabout Vivek Surti has devised a Peach Moonshine BBQ Sauce recipe that he's published over on that site. Don't be intimidated by the lengthy ingredient list. When Vivek gets into the kitchen larder, he has a tendency to grab ingredients like a contestant in Supermarket Sweep.
