Local food blogger Lindsay Landis writes one of the prettiest food blogs in town at her site Love and Olive Oil. There she shares her recipes for mainly sweet treats and posts beautiful photographs that clearly qualify as food porn. She is also now a published cookbook author since the release of her first tome, The Cookie Dough Lover's Cookbook.

To celebrate this happy event, Lindsay will be signing copies of her book this Saturday, June 16, at Parnassus Books in Green Hills starting at 2 p.m. The book includes a dizzying assortment of recipes, most of which are based around her simple eggless cookie dough starter. Since you'll be making so many of these recipes once you read the book, she appreciates the fact that you'll probably be eating the dough raw out of the bowl and has graciously provided a salmonella-safe version of cookie dough for your snacking pleasure.

The recipes run the gamut from "cakes, custards and pies to candies, brownies and even granola bars."

"Included are recipes for indulgent breakfasts (cookie dough doughnuts!), frozen treats (cookie dough popsicles!), outrageous snacks (cookie dough wontons! cookie dough fudge! cookie dough pizza!), and more."

Ordinarily I wouldn't quote a product description with so many exclamation points, but in this case I think they're probably appropriate.

So drop in on Saturday to meet a charming local author and get her tips for creating some really unique desserts. And if I know Lindsay, I'm pretty sure she'll be bringing some delicious samples for you to enjoy.
