Burger Republic Invades Lenox Village With Beer-Burgers-Shakes Strategy

Posted by on Tue, Jun 5, 2012 at 11:52 AM

In this week's Food Biz column in the print edition of The City Paper and online in Nashville Post, I talked with the man behind Burger Republic, a brand-new restaurant in the Lenox Village Town Center development off Nolensville Road in the southernmost realm of Davidson County.

Burger Republic focuses on burgers (Certified Angus Beef), milkshakes (hand-scooped and spun) and a roster of draft beers (mostly American, and mostly craft brews).

It's the brainchild of Drew Jackman — a Berklee College of Music grad who worked in bars in Boston, then joined Capital Restaurant Concepts in Washington, D.C., (Georgia Brown’s, Old Glory Bar-B-Que) before embarking on a corporate career at Logan’s Roadhouse and O’Charley’s.

In fact, Jackman’s partner in Burger Republic is Jeff Warne, the former CEO of O’Charley’s who now leads the Perkins chain.

Jackman said that with all due respect to corporate chains, Burger Republic isn’t one. “My heart is 100 percent in independent local restaurants,” he said.
