
Cupcake-palooza is the brilliant creation of Joan Brasher. She's a writer and editor for Vanderbilt publications, a community volunteer, a mom and a cupcake enthusiast.

Cupcake-palooza: It's back and sweeter than ever!Come sample from thousands of cupcakes and other goodies donated by Cupcake Collection, Nothing Bundt Cakes, The Painted Cupcake, Mattie-Cakes, Sweet Stash, Costco, Publix, Harris Teeter, Grins Vegetarian Cafe, Blue Bell Ice Cream, Tasti D-Lite, Starbucks and more.
Home bakers are invited to donate their creations (contact joan.brasher[at]vanderbilt.edu), and win prizes for their cupcakes.
There will be a kids' reading and craft area, as well as a Wii gaming area (for burning off all that sugar!) sponsored by Game Stop West End. There will be special guests, including Mayor Karl Dean!
Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children 5 and under. Guests will have a generous amount of treat tickets to cash in for a variety of goodies. No advance tickets — please pay at the door.
All proceeds go to Books from Birth of Middle Tennessee, which is operated out of the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.
