On Leap Day, a popular Hillsboro Village hangout is making the change to a smoke-free environment. Sam's Sports Grill will become a non-smoking venue beginning Feb. 29. The bar said it was responding to the wishes of a majority of it customers.
Open Thread breathes a sigh of relief that Labor of Love Mobile Food, (Twitter:@lolfoods), which had dropped out of sight for a couple of weeks, was busy working on details of a bricks and mortar location. We love those cheesesteaks. They promise to let us know when the deal is set.
The wait is on until we hear where, but general expressions of happiness!
And Our Kids Soup Sunday this weekend, and Yelp Drinks! Week starts Monday. It's not business as usual during Leap Week. It's just not.
And hey, I had a very crappy meal this week. And I want to cook a goat. What about you? Open Thread is open for the good, the bad and the quirky.

I read about LOL seconds after reading the most recent tweet from Bangin' Tacos and I quote: "fuck nashville we are outta here you people suck" I also know that they were mentioning a move to Colorado, but did they get hacked, or are they really letting us know how they feel???
From Louisiana Seafood Co at the Farmers Market:

Sam's non-smoking 'LEAP' on Wed. Feb. 29 benefits the American Cancer Society! 10% of all proceeds from the entire business day goes back to ACS.
does anyone know where to get a good caramel apple in nashville?
Does anyone know anything about a restaurant named First Watch in Brentwood near Harris Teeter ? Open only for breakfast and lunch ?
@cjrussell - just had a conversation about First Watch the other night. 2 diff people have told me its an excellent place for breakfast, best in the area. And it's a chain? I never even knew it was there.
Yeah, Cmdr Taco, I don't think they'd knowingly have "crappiest tacos ever" in their Twitter description, so my guess is someone's account has been compromised.
Rumor is, the old Mrs. Winners in Donelson is becoming a local BBQ joint. Said to be another branch of an existing joint with at least 1 location in town. Looking at Google, that could be Jack's, B&C, Neely's, Judge Bean's, Roosters, Hog Heaven, etc. Excited to see what happens, they are starting construction now.
Mrs. Winners rumor debunked over the weekend, Whitt's is moving into that location. Bummerino metropolis, was hoping for a real BBQ joint. Still, happy that someone is filling the space.
So they're moving from their current location next to Fat Mo's?
bummer.
It looks like Honky Tonk Central either opened this past weekend or is ready to open in the old Seanachie space. The beer signs are on. Anybody check it out yet?
@37210: Close, it is moving from the building next to Krystal. I think there is an office building beside Fat Mo's. Just moving a couple blocks, but now they can have people eat inside. Still would have liked to see a different BBQ joint, but really happy it wasn't made into a Title Max.
You're right, it is next to the Krystal's....
Hopefully that area gets something decent once Publix opens up shop.
Yay for smoke free Sam's!!
We had a delightful dinner at Fleet Street Friday night. Chicken pie was delicious. I know it's thoroughly inauthentic, but wish they'd go smoke free as well. It wasn't overwhelming in the early dinner hours, but I can imagine that cellar space gets stuffy really fast. Service was so good, though!
@CJ, while I don't know anything about that particular location, I am a big fan of First Watch from other cities. Great breakfast/lunch joint IMO.
