Alimentum Crew To Lead Two New Culinary Field Trips in February

Posted by on Thu, Jan 26, 2012 at 8:04 AM

Alimentum publisher Paulette Licitra and Alimentum PR director Annakate Tefft are hitting the road again with two new culinary tours of Nashville next month. After leading intrepid foodies on an international tour of Nolensville Road cuisine and a local farm tour last year, this time they're headed west for an Indian Culture Tour and east for an Artisan Tour of East Nashville.

Here are the details:

Saturday, Feb. 4, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Indian Culture Tour

Join us for an Indian Culture Tour of Nashville. We’ll have a private tour of the famous Sri Ganesha Temple and Hindu Cultural Center. We’ll enjoy an Indian lunch feast at a local favorite restaurant, and then be treated to a presentation about yoga by Nashville’s premiere yoga instructor Sujatha Yarlagadda. While we won’t practice yoga in this session we will be in community with a very gentle, knowledgeable, and caring practitioner.

Saturday, Feb. 11, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

East Nashville Artisans Tour

The East Nashville neighborhood is an exciting and hip Nashville hub. We’ll start with a tour of Bongo Java Roasting Company to get a behind-the-scenes look at the coffee roasting process including a tasting, then stop for lunch at a popular local farm-to-table restaurant. We’ll explore the production process of nationally famous Olive & Sinclair Chocolates along with a tasting. We’ll end the tour at East Nashville’s Five Points where tour guests can indulge in some local shopping at Art & Invention Gallery, Wonders on Woodland and the Idea Hatchery, a small business incubator featuring gift shops, clothing stores, vintage shops and more.

Each tour costs $95 per person, limit 10 people. Tour includes transportation (from group meeting point), lunch, entrance fees, the latest copy of Alimentum Journal, and fun times with fellow local foodies.
