So Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m. on Saturday night (technically, Sunday morning). I assume that means last call should be extended by an hour to give you an extra hour of wine drinking, although personally I don't think I remember ever being in a bar when the time changed. Any BItesters have personal experience with how bartenders handle the change? And do airplanes just circle around for an hour and do trains stop on the tracks to ensure that they arrive at their normal time? Just curious ...

To celebrate the plunging temperatures, Big River Brewhouse invites you to join them for the tapping of the first keg of their Winter's Nip Bock this Tuesday, Nov. 8, from 5 to 7 p.m. They'll be offering a dollar off on glasses of this dark mahogany lager, which they describe as having "a full-bodied blending of caramel and toffee maltiness with a hint of holiday spirit."

Big River will be sharing the spirit by passing free appetizers among the crowd and holding a raffle for Big River merchandise and two club seats for an upcoming Predators game. Marines will be on site to accept donations of wrapped toys for Toys for Tots if you'd like to contribute. The Winter's Nip will be on the menu at least until Christmas, so if you miss out on this opportunity to try it out, drop by another time to take a nip.
