Enjoy a "Jack-Ale-Lantern" on Fridays in October to Benefit Community Food Advocates

I haven't heard much lately about Jackalope Brewing Co. other than the happy tweets of my friends enjoying a Friday afternoon brew there. I did finally get to meet Jackalope co-owner Robyn Virball while waiting in a line at the recent Southern Artisan Cheese Festival. When I mentioned that I had not visited since the first month that they were open, she offered the completely unsolicited response of "Oh, we're much better than that now." So they must be pretty damned good now, because I enjoyed my first trip.

Here's a good reason to go back and benefit a good cause at the same time. Knowing how obsessive that some Bites readers get when the first pumpkin latte appears at their local coffeehouse, you all should be pretty excited to hear that Tennessee’s first female-run commercial brewery is producing a special "Jack-Ale-Lantern" October pumpkin-pecan brew and donating the proceeds to Community Food Advocates to assist their efforts to to end hunger and create a healthy, just and sustainable food system.

This deal is in effect at Jackalope's regular taproom night, from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, every week in October — including tomorrow — so hop on down the Jackalope trail to 701 Eighth Ave. S. and help out this very deserving cause.
