Local Artist Herb Williams Honors Mr. Jack

Herb Williams is probably best known for the sculptures which he creates using hundreds and thousands of colorful crayons, but he doesn't limit his media to just Crayolas. Recently he took on a commission to celebrate the Jack Daniel's 161st birthday. I'm not sure what the traditional anniversary gift for a 161st birthday is, but in this case it was glass.

Williams set a Guinness World Record by assembling a 3D portrait of Mr. Jack using 2,120 empty bottles of the namesake product at Manhattan's South Street Seaport. There is no word on what happened to all the whiskey, but Pat Martin was spotted in NYC a few weeks earlier for the Big Apple BBQ Block Party. I'm just sayin' ...

Pretty impressive to have such a steady hand around all that liquor.
