Those who went to last year's took in the vast panoply of experience: two great sports traditions, sausages and wrestling, brought together in one day of carnivorous athleticism. Flesh-tacular!
On Saturday, Sept. 24, pay one price (expected to be $15) and eat your fill of exotic sausages (gator, boar, venison, elk), regular dogs and more common sausages, and pretty much anything you can grill to good effect.
Dog's got a DJ For entertainment, and the madcap antics of SAW wrestling. Because, as The Dog's Larry Deal wrote to the Scene, "It's so damn fun."
Deal said last year's crowd was a great mix of Hillsboro Village neighbors, Vanderbilt students, Dog regulars and SAW fans.
The SAW matches will be taped for an upcoming Saturday night broadcast on the WB.
The grills and tunes fire up about 2 p.m., and the eatin' and wrassln' go on until 8 or so. No reservations needed — just show up 2127 Belcourt Ave. and pay the admission.
