Events Get Discount Tix to Music City Southern Hotwing Festival

The Music City Southern Hotwing Festival runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1, in Walk of Fame Park downtown. Around 30 teams are expected to vie for "best wings" bragging rights, and your $20 admission gets you samples from the competitors. (Rumor is Bites' own Chris Chamberlain will be a judge. Good thing he has a cast-iron palate.)
Other highlights include live music, a wing-eating contest and activities for the kids. Proceeds benefit the Ronald McDonald Charities of Nashville.
If you want to join the party, act fast, because the fest is today's Big Deal at the Scene website. Get a $20 admission certificate for $10. Go here before midnight to get in on the deal.
The festival is an expansion of a popular event in Memphis. Organizers hope to eventually spread to other cities in the South, celebrating searing wings, sharing hot music and raising money for charity.
