Another Chink in the Armor of Civility? Or Just Convenient? It's All OK at Weekly Open Thread

We like to use cloth napkins because they're reusable and might or might not have a smaller environmental footprint. Just, sometimes, it's hard to deny the temptation to grab a paper towel. Some nights the roll is right there and it's just. too. easy.

You too? We're not alone, even in the seemingly more proper realm across the Atlantic. Seems that 76 percent of Brits opt for paper napkins or "kitchen roll" instead of cloth napkins (or serviettes as they were more often called until recently).

Oh, and the other thing I'll confess this week: I made pot roast and chicken cacciatore, two winter dishes. I know — it's 100 degrees outside, and tomatoes and squash and okra are everywhere, and I chose to make pot roast and chicken cacciatore.

Got a paper towel habit? Been cooking perversely out-of-season entrees? Come to the Weekly Open Thread and tell all — confession is good for the soul.
