Last Chance to Get Your Crush on at l’Eté du Vin

Posted By on Tue, Jul 5, 2011 at 5:41 AM

Tickets are selling quickly for the latest edition of Nashville's premier wine event, l’Eté du Vin. This year's auction is titled The Nashville Crush and will take place on Saturday, July 15, from 5:30 p.m. until midnight at the Loew's Vanderbilt Plaza. As I told you back in May, The Nashville Crush actually encompasses three separate events that you can mix and match according to your specific interests and current bank account.

The evening kicks off with the “First Crush” Wine Tasting which begins at 5:30. This event, designed for all levels of wine enthusiasts, is a way for guests to learn about the wines directly from the wineries. This year the featured wines include: Krug, Newton, Numanthia and Cloudy Bay. Wines that attendees will be enjoying include:

Krug: Grande Cuvée; Newton: The Puzzle and Unfiltered Chardonnay; Cloudy Bay: Te Koko; Numanthia: Termanthia and Cheval des Andes. Your $100 ticket includes access to the silent auction from 6:30 until 7:30. The silent auction catalog includes tasting dinners, art pieces, and above all, lots of great wine donated by wineries and friends of the auction.

At 7:30 patrons will sit down to a three-course dinner and the always-rollicking live auction. Come ready to raise your paddle, or just sit back and watch the action as bidders compete for rare bottles and phenomenal wine trips and tasting events. But don't sit on your hands for too long, since all the money raised at the event goes to support the fight against cancer. Diners are encouraged to dig deep in their cellars for great wines to share with their tablemates, but bottles will be available if you decide not to BYOB. The dinner and live auction costs $250 and includes admission to the Late Night Crush party.

Starting at 8:30, the Late Night Crush offers an opportunity for newbies to enjoy late-night snacks and assorted desserts and chocolates while the auction continues until 9:30. Party-goers will dance to the musical selections of the Scat Springs Band until midnight while they experience these wines at regional wine bars and specialty beers:

Santa Cristina “Campogrande” Orvieto, Umbria 2009
Santa Cristina Sangiovese, Tuscany 2009
Santa Cristina Chianti Superiore, Tuscany 2007

Pacific Northwest
Chateau Ste Michelle Riesling, Columbia Valley 2009
Erath Pinot Noir, Oregon 2009
Columbia Crest “Grand Estates” Amitage, Columbia Valley 2008

New Zealand
Villa Maria “Private Bin” Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough 2009
Villa Maria “Private Bin” Chardonnay, Marlborough 2009
Villa Maria “Private Bin” Pinot Noir, Marlborough 2009

If you just want to come to the Late Night Crush, tickets are $75/person or $125/pair.
