The Nashville Farmers' Market is proud to announce their latest tenant, the Louisiana Seafood Co., which will be located in the Market House across from Nooley's.

The owners are Louisiana natives who were looking to make a move. They sought out a market that was underserved with regard to the availability of fresh seafood delivery; but they also wanted to make sure it was a city they'd want to live in.

Lucky for us, Nashville fit the bill on both counts. Since the owners of Louisiana Seafood Co. actually own the shrimp boats and oyster beds that they use to acquire their wares, you can look forward to the availability of fresh (never frozen) seafood delivered to the market every week for pick up Friday through Sunday.

Offerings will change due to seasonality, but expect a consistent supply of fresh shrimp, live crab, live crawfish, oysters, fish and frog legs. Last weekend during their soft opening, Lousisana Seafood Co. featured shrimp and blue crabs.

So go welcome this latest addition to the Nashville food community next weekend at the Farmers' Market.

Hours: Friday-Saturday 8 a.m.-6 p.m., Sunday 8am-3 p.m., louisianaseafoodco.com
