(Owners Jennifer Zungolo and Christopher Eddis are Philly-area natives who named their venture Labor of Love Mobile Food. Check them on Facebook here or call 397-5396. They have a regular gig 11 a.m to 2 p.m. Wednesday through Friday in the United Methodist Publishing parking lot at Eighth Avenue and Clark, and they're looking for more spots to visit. Not only do they offer cheesesteaks on authentic Philadelphia rolls, they do a mean meatball sub and their own Italian water ices made from real fruit.)
Despite our frequent reports on mobile food, I don't think we've even mentioned The Latin Wagon, Tin Can Treats, Barbie Burgers or the rumored dumpling cart that is supposed to be in the planning stages.
I have to admit that it's been hard to keep up. Luckily in this age of specialization, an industrious and so far anonymous blogger has taken it upon him or herself to aggregate all the info on Nashville's food trucks at his or her blog. Yes, it's named Nashville Food Trucks, but don't rag on the obvious name: There's a reason I found it at the top of my Google search. (And the search for "bites blog" returned 28,000,000-plus results. We're the top one, though!)
Back to the Nashville Food Trucks blog, not only can readers find out the latest news on our mobile food community and their Twitter feeds so you can hunt them down, but the menus are also posted on the site so you can at least start to make up your mind on what you want while you're standing in front of me in line.
So what do you think, Bitesters? Is this a trend that growing too fast. Do we really need a rolling cupcake/frozen yogurt/franchise-information-available bus? Do you worry like I do that the Metro Health Department is going to have to buy a fleet of mopeds to keep up with inspections?

It's a food truck explosion! Can't believe so many new ones are just popping out of nowhere. It's bringing a new dimension to the Nashville food scene, so I for one, am thrilled.
Looking forward to giving the "Philly" cheesesteaks a try. At the least, am glad to hear they are using provolone and not the disgusting cheese whiz. I probably had a cheesesteak every other week growing up, and only once had one with cheese whiz. Never again.
Pat's uses Cheese Whiz. Long live pasteurized processed cheese food!
@Kay, can't wait to hear what you think about the cheesesteaks. You are our local authority on the subject.
Meanwhile, Labor of Love's Facebook page says that on Wednesday they'll roll out pineapple Italian ice. Sounds good.

il also let you know what my sweetheart thinks of them as hes somewhat of an expert himself. im excited and plan to surprise him with this soon.
im not sure what he will make of the provolone but i sure like that idea!!!
my friend went to another new traveling food vender (i dont want to say which) and got a very small amount of food and no drink and spent 10$. thats to high to me for a lunch at a place without even tables???? i REALLY dont want to talk smack about anyone and i want them to make it but i hope the philly steaks and the new barbie burgers are not like 12 bucks because this food that my friend got was much simpler than a philly steak.
reagan- I tried Barbie Burgers a couple of weeks ago. They're pretty good, chargrilled & very similar to a burger grilled out in the back yard. The burgers aren't huge, but sometimes that's a good thing. The fries are pretty good though, a mix of regular & sweet potato. I think my husband said it was around $6 for a cheeseburger, fries & drink. It's nothing I would seek out, but if they were at a festival or concert it's definitely worth trying. We seem to have similar taste in food, have you tried a Detroit Coney from Jim's Coney Island on Trousdale? They ship the coney sauce & hotdogs in from Michigan. And they also have the biggest selection of Faygo sodas. Rock & Rye (cream soda/red pop mix?) and Vernor's gingerale are the best.
Hi Shannon,
I really need to get around to document my visit to Jim's Coney Island. It's worth the trip, people!
It's in the spot where Aunt B's Burgers used to be.
omg thanks for the food suggestions shannon! the barbie burger seems like its wisely priced. i would certainly try it. i like the idea of mixing the two kinds of fries.
ill have to try that coney for sure. love them!!!! I love a unique drink and the drinks there sounds super cool!!!!
omg arepas - you must go to bonarroo lesley
