When one of the co-chairs of the event is Nashville foodie legend and frequent Bites commenter, Kay West, it's only a matter of time before you feel the gentle tap, tap, tap of the velvet hammer. When Kay came a calling looking for restaurant hosts, the SouthCommies dropped like bowling pins. Carrington and Silverman will be hosting lunch at Marche, so I guess that means that Jack will be working even later than usual next Tuesday to catch up after his long lunch. If he stays until Wednesday morning is that working late or working early?
Dana, Nicki and I will be hosting at Tayst for dinner, mainly because we love Chef Jeremy's food, but also because Dana and I can both crawl home if we stay a little late "thanking" the later patrons with one more glass of wine in AD's bar. I hope Nicki has a good headlight on her bicycle.
As an added bonus this year, any Dining Out for Life patron who gives $20 or more on top of their restaurant tab will receive a "20% off Tuesday" card. This card will entitle you to receive 20 percent off your food and nonalcoholic (rats) beverage bill on Tuesdays for the rest of the year at the participating locations. We would love to see any of the Bites community at either of those meals or at any of the Dining Out for Life restaurants. Take the opportunity to lift the veil of anonymity and introduce yourself.
Reservations are filling up quickly, so call right away and help out.

I checked with Kay for a clarification of the 20% off Tuesdays, and she was kind enough to respond:
"Every restaurant will have those cards, and they will get you 20% off on Tuesday nights through next year.
Here are the participating restaurants:
Nashville City Club
Sole Mio
Mambu
Zumi Sushi
Village Pub & Beer Garden
Anatolia Turkish Restaurant
Nuvo Burrito"
Not a bad lagniappe for donating to such a great cause. Please come join us at Marche or Tayst and bring your checkbook to help Nashville CARES.
