Sample Craft Distillers Spirits at Bar No. 308 in East Nashville

When I cross the river into the People's Republic of East Nashville looking for strong drink, odds are I'm headed to one of two places. If I'm buying something to take home, I'm probably headed to visit the amiable and informative Will Motley at Woodland Wine Merchant. Despite the fact that there are plenty of wine and liquor stores between where I work and where I live and the small detail that Will actually lives about a block from me, I'm more than happy to make the schlep across the river for his advice about affordable boutique wines and exotic spirits.

If I'm looking to do my drinking in situ, then Bar No. 308 is my favorite destination on the hip side of the Cumberland. The staff there continues to earn their reputation as dedicated cocktail purveyors with emphasis on ingenuity and customer comfort.

So you can imagine my delight to hear that these two forces of good were coming together for a tasting event this week. This Wednesday, March 16, starting at 6 p.m. at No. 308, you can sample some delicious brandy and mezcal that I'm guessing you've never tried before.

Each of the spirits has its own unique backstory that will be elaborated by Barbara Fredell, who supplies the spirits to this market. The tasting is $22 per person, with five spirits to be tasted.

Please RSVP to alexis@bar308.com as soon as possible, since space is limited. Don't miss out on this opportunity!

The spirits lineup:

- Germain-Robin Craft Method Brandy
- Germain-Robin Coast Road Brandy
- Germain-Robin XO Brandy
- Los Nahuales Blanco Mezcal
- Los Nahuales Reposado Mezcal
