The problem was that since one of my diagnostic visits was usually a few weeks before Lent, I was leading the absolute worst life in preparation for 40+ days of asceticism. Finally, I asked him last year to move out my appointment a few weeks so that maybe I could be a month into vegetarianism before he passed judgment on my fitness.
So of course Ash Wednesday is almost as late as the lunar calendar will allow it to be this year, and I'll be visiting Dr. Jellyfinger the week beforehand. Oh well, no sense trying to be good now.
Luckily, my friends at F. Scott's Restaurant & Jazz Bar are planning a blow-out for Fat Tuesday. Laissez les bons temps rouler at their Mardi Gras Party next Tuesday, March 8, with this decadent menu:

Blackened Grouper Filet with Crawfish Etoufee, Stone Ground Grits, Crispy Spinach
