Local Bravo Gelato to Sweeten Graceland's Super Bowl

Oops...wrong Elvis.

In only the second time since 1994 that an outsider has been allowed on the grounds to prepare food at Graceland, Nashville's own Bravo Gelato will be one of the caterers at a Super Bowl viewing party on the lawn at Elvis Presley's house this Sunday, Feb. 6, starting at 4 p.m. Bravo Gelato has only been available in Memphis since August, but they've obviously made an impression on the residents of the Bluff City.

Bravo will be providing the desserts for the party — which benefits St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital — and Andrew Michael Italian Kitchen and Sweet Grass will be providing the more substantial eats. The event is part of a series of Game Day. Give Back. events being hosted across the country to raise funds for St. Jude.

Here are the details of the party:

Festivities will include a touch football game on the front lawn with former Memphis State and NFL quarterback Billy Fletcher leading an all-star lineup to re-enact the games Elvis held at Graceland more than 40 years ago. Participants will wear throwback replica jerseys from one of Elvis’ old teams, and George Klein, one of Elvis’ best friends from high school, will serve as one of the coaches. The event will also feature a silent auction of various items, including sports and Elvis memorabilia.

The party will be held on the north front lawn of the mansion in a heated tent decorated in a style similar to Elvis’ TV room at Graceland. Guests will enjoy a relaxed setting with vintage-styled furnishings while watching the game.

In keeping with the Elvis theme, Noel Glasgow at Bravo has come up with some flavors that really are fit for a King:

Peanut Butter and Banana, topped with bacon
Sweet Potato Pie, w/ Delvin Farm potatoes
Banana Pudding w/ `Nilla Wafer dust
Peach Cobbler
Pound Cake

Tickets aren't cheap at $500 apiece, but when was the last time you got invited to watch the big game at the King's house? (Frequent Bites commenter Ed King notwithstanding.)
