However, if you actually just want to do something cool or romantic or fun for "Go Ahead, Prove You're Not a Cheap Bastard Day — I Dare You," then go for it. Men, know that there are restaurants all over town cooking up deals for V-Day that will probably set you back a week's worth of pay for a year's worth of ambiance, all but guaranteeing you your annual squeezer at the end of the night. Ladies, this is the one night he'll look you in the eye, listen to what you're saying, and actually stop checking out other women, or at least only do it when he's really kinda maybe almost sure you're not looking.
But if all that makes you want to die a series of small, progressively more painful deaths, consider eating at White Castle on Feb. 14. (Record scratch.) Seriously, White Castle is embracing its kitschy-kicks vibe for a night of reservations-required candlelight dining inside the restaurant. It's tacky as hell, and yet, everything about the way it disregards your typical cheesy (no pun intended) high-price-tag efforts at Expressing Your Love has my support. It's low-key, it's direct, it's honest, it's affordable, it is what it is. And they've been doing it for decades, which is more than most married couples can say. Ba-dum-bum.

Forget the smell of roses and sweet chocolate, this Valentine's Day will bring the savory smell of steam-grilled onions. On Monday, Feb. 14 from 5 to 8 p.m., doting Nashville-area couples can enjoy a romantic candlelit dinner complete with special menus, tableside service and themed decorations at all White Castle restaurants.Call 615-834-5798, ext. 0 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday to make reservations.
“For 20 years, White Castle has hosted this special Valentine's Day dinner for our most loyal and romantic Cravers,” said Jamie Richardson, vice president of government and corporate relations. “Love is always in the air at White Castle. A good number of our customers have met, shared a first date or even got married at a White Castle restaurant.”
From Jan. 25 - Feb. 14, the company is offering its “Sweetheart Meal Deal,” an online Facebook coupon that makes the evening even sweeter.
Each reservation party will receive a collapsible commemorative White Castle Valentine’s Day vase, as well as a complimentary digital photo available on the White Castle website after the event.
Valentine’s Day is just one of many special programs through which White Castle engages and rewards its Craver customers and family of team members. This Valentine’s Day is most notable as White Castle is celebrating its 90th birthday this year.
