This week's
dining review features Cool Cafe, a low-key meat-and-three in a Franklin-area strip mall. The only reason it took me so long to get around to the 5-year-old eatery and its made-from-scratch menu is that it is closed on Saturday. And Saturday is usually my hauling-my-ass-out-to-Franklin day.
Meanwhile, esteemed food writer John Mariani recently hauled his own ass to Nashville and chronicled it on Esquire's food blog. As far as meat-and-three dining goes, he recommended the venerable Arnold's Country Kitchen. Also on Mariani's list of edible reasons to come to Nashville: Prince's Hot Chicken and a 12South area newcomer. Think you can guess which one? Check out Eat Like a Man to see if you're right.
