Remember last year's Iron Fork, when I was knocked out by Chaffin's Barn chef Kim Ingram's incredible peanut butter chocolate brownie with caramel sauce and roasted banana ice cream?

Ingram took that inspiration and made a similar goodie for Breyers Ice Cream: Ballad of the Blonde. A blondie is topped with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream, then whipped cream and pecans.

Ingram will be demonstrating her recipe, and Breyers will be giving out free scoops of chocolate chip cookie dough and vanilla, plus a sundae bar, at the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere (3777 Nolensville Road) this Saturday, Aug. 14.

If you have a knack for ice cream desserts, there's also an associated contest, with big prizes, including $10,000 and a trip for four to Chicago. Quick, someone, submit fig ice cream with a salted caramel ribbon between gingersnaps.
