Woodland Wine Merchant and Rumours East invite you to take the edge off the summer heat by enjoying some wines from a region that is locked in the dead of winter — South America. Woodland's Will Motley will bring the wine and Rumours will provide appropriate snacks to accompany your sips.
It's Thursday, July 29, at 6:30 p.m., and it costs $20 per person to attend. Call Rumours East to make reservations: 262-5346.
Meanwhile, if you must enjoy a little taste of New Orleans like I am, September's in Hendersonville is hosting an Abita Beer Tasting on Wednesday, July 28, at 6 p.m.
Meet the brewmaster and enjoy their wide range of products paired with Chef September Norman's delectable bites. You can also try Abita's new Abbey Ale. Proceeds from Abbey Ale go toward restoring the Abbey in New Orleans, plus they are working on a beer called "S.O.S." with proceeds going to help the oil spill clean-up efforts in the Gulf. Drink up and help out. Check out the menu after the jump:
