Amerigo on West End is holding another in their series of casual tasting events, but instead of featuring their wine list, it's lager time. Tonight from 6 until 8 p.m., just $13 gets you the chance to taste Chef Paul Schramkowski's latest pizza creations, including a Quattro Formaggi; Grilled Portobello and Brie; Salmon and Dill; Hot Chicken; Skirt Steak and Caramelized Onion; and Tennessee Prosciutto. I've been lucky enough to sample a few of these at a previous event and can testify that they are really good. I think it's the honey-wheat crust that makes it special.
The pizzas will be paired with ice cold selections from Amerigo's draft beer menu:
Yuengling Lager — from the oldest domestic brewery in the U.S.
Moretti — an Italian Pilsner brew
Dogfish Head — a powerful yet balanced East Coast I.P.A.
Yazoo Summer Brew — also known as the "Flood Beer" because 40 percent of all sales go towards helping local flood victims
All these beers will be offered through the end of the summer on draft, so don't be afraid to get hooked on a favorite.
