Call to Area Restaurants: East Nashville Volunteers Can Use Some Grub

Posted by on Fri, May 7, 2010 at 1:34 PM

Bites has just heard from the Disaster Assistance Center at the East Park Community Center that some meals for volunteers would be most welcome. The center is at Woodland and Sixth streets in East Nashville.

Any restaurants that can help, please call 569-1128 or just drop off some food at East Park.

And speaking of East Nashville relief efforts, the East Park Community Center has been working closely with volunteer efforts at ArtHouse Gardens (1108 Woodland St., 227-TREE). ArtHouse proprietor Alan Murdock has been one of the many local business owners stepping up to help, and he's been a true Nashville hero. And despite the whirlwind of volunteer coordination efforts going on there, ArtHouse Gardens is still conducting business all weekend.

The point being: It's Mother's Day this weekend, so if you need flowers or plants for Mom, go support a business that's been working nonstop to help the community.
