In wonderful bit of ironic kismet, our lucky winner was actually one of Bites' most voracious vegetarians Lesley of the blog "Lesley Eats." Not that she wasn't appreciative. As a matter of fact, when asked to confirm that she actually wanted the prize, her response was "Hell yeah, I want it! I'll wear it whilst eating a Gardenburger and post it. Because it's only fair. Maybe I'll even wear it at the Wild Cow for funsies." Lesley is also a proud member of Team Slanket, so this is still strangely appropriate.
We're going to hold her to it. Since she wouldn't have any use for the certificates for a few free Grilled Cheese Bacon Thickburgers, she graciously allowed us to draw for a second prize. The lucky winner is one of our favorite readers RyanB from the blog "Forward Eating." Sadly for us, Ryan is moving out of town soon. But he's planning a long road trip to eat his way around the country on the way to his new life in culinary school in Yankeeland, so we're sure that he could use some free tasty burgers along the way.
Thanks to all our entrants and to Hardee's for the swag!

I can comment on the new site! Watch out Bites/Pith, I'm back :)
While my cold winter nights up in Vermont will be colder without that Slanket, I'm sure that the additional fat I pack on from those cheeseburgers will help keep me warm. Thanks for the coupons!
The Grilled Cheese Bacon Thickburger was ironically developed after our R&D guys were trying to come up with the ultimate grilled cheese for our vegetarian friends. Of course, we had to go and add a burger. Lesley, you can still order without the burger for a delicious grilled cheese. Happy to send some product cards your way since you graciously gave them away. Chris knows where to reach us...
Sincerely, Hardee's

Lesley, I'm the liaison between the Scene, the slanket and you, and the transfer may take some time. But we'll get it to you in time for cold weather, k?
Wow, I'm impressed that Hardee's has actually devoted space on its website for those of us who don't eat meat. We've all learned to adjust at most places, but it's nice that they recognize us. Vegetarians are people, too! Ha! And I am not one to turn down a grilled cheese. And my love of curly fries is illegal in some countries.
Nicki--my husband is so excited about this Slanket. My Slanket is pink lavender so it's painfully obvious that it does NOT belong to him. Now he'll have his own!
