Highlighting the calendar is an upcoming event at Miro District Food & Drink (122 Adelicia St.). They are hosting a Wine Dinner with Carr Vineyards and Winery at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 18. The five-course dinner with wine pairings looks like a real winner at $60 per person.

J. Barleycorn's Wine and Spirits is partnering with Salud! at Whole Foods in Green Hills for a wine dinner featuring the wines of Kermit Lynch on Wednesday, March 24, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. for $55 per person.
Chef Merijoy Lantz Rucker will teach you how to make some wonderful Provencal style dishes while you enjoy some great wine imported from Lynch, the top U.S. importer of French wines. It should be a fun and informative evening. The menu looks great: Ravioli with Goat Cheese in Vegetable Broth; Spring Greens with Citrus Vinaigrette; Rack of Lamb with Pomegranate Sauce; Spring Peas on Bed of Lettuce, Herbs, & Butter; Roasted New Potatoes with Ramps & Garlic; and Chocolate Tarts.

Grand Cru invites you to a "Wine Social at the Park." The Park Cafe, that is at 4403 Murphy Road. Snacks will be served along with a selection of wines.

The Cru-sters are also hosting another one of their wildly popular Italian Wine & Food experiences at Cafe Coco's Italian Market on Thursday, March 18th at 6:30pm for

On March 11 at 6 p.m., Tin Angel will be throwing a wine dinner featuring offerings from the Steele Winery. As always, the plates should be interesting accompaniments to this excellent Santa Barbara winery.

Proving that the desire to buy wine in grocery stores knows no political boundaries, the Tennessee Center for Policy Research is hosting a "Liberty and Libations Wine Tasting" fundraiser at Stoveworks in The Factory at Franklin on Wednesday, March 10, 6-8 p.m.

All proceeds will benefit TCPR's efforts to encourage legislation that would allow grocery stores to sell wine.
Finally, if beer is what you seek, mark your calendar for Saturday, March 13, and the Franklin Main Street Brew Fest. Twenty different downtown Franklin shops and restuarants will be participating in the event which will run from 6-9 p.m. Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 the day of the event. Included are tastings of more than 40 beers and a sampling of Irish whiskey in the Main Street shops. All proceeds will go to Downtown Franklin Association for promotion and continued revitalization of the historic district, which is on the National Register of Historic Places and designated by the National Trust as a Great American Main Street and a Preserve America community.
