Your favorite Wino has been wandering through the Italian region of his voluminous cellar (well...cupboard) lately, and thanks to the largesse of several local wine distributors you can join me on the journey. In celebration of l'autunno and the return of hearty fall meals, Italian wines are on the tasting itinerary.
If total immersion is your bag, Grand Cru and Coco's Italian Market are coming together to present an Italian Wine, Food and Language Experience on Nov. 17 and Dec. 15 from 6:30-8 p.m.. The first class will present Italian wines that match the many flavors of the Thanksgiving table with small plates to accompany each course.

Heading back across the Alps and down Interstate 65, Mallory Lane Wine & Spirits are offering our neighbors to the south an opportunity to try out some of the same Thanksgiving Italian wines that Grand Cru laid out earlier in the week.

Finally, if you still aren't comfortable being spotted in the liquor store by your neighbors, there's always Amerigo for your sipping and supping pleasure. The Cool Springs location is offering a tasting of wines produced in California vineyards, made from traditional Italian grape varietals. California's Mediterranean climate provides the ideal condition for crafting appealing New World interpretations of Old World favorites.
The "Italifornia" Wine Tasting is on Monday, Nov. 16 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
