Pull up a chair and tell Bites how it went when you tried open a bottle of wine with your shoe? That guy in the video looks pretty professional -- did he make it look easier than it really is?
Hot chicken -- is Williamson County too lame for it? Explain your answer and give examples.
What'd you think of the $47,000 lunch bill (before the $12,000 tip)? Were you inspired by this touching success story? Did it make yout think, "Gosh, if I just worked a little harder...." Were you left shaking your head? Did you count both the guests and the bottles of wine and wonder how they all got home? I mean, both the guests and the bottles?

anyone know where i can get a full menu for Patterson House?
I had Chuy's yesterday and the food was less than spectacular. However, the service was even worse. Now I realize that they just opened, but I am pretty sure that the guy waiting on us had never waited table before in his life. It took about 5 mins to get our drinks. We ordered an app and it never came, but it did show up on the bill. We had to ask other waiters for drink refills, and our waiter was MIA for the majority of the time. I tried several items and noting really stood out. The fish tacos were bland and the rice and beans were very average.
On the up side the salsa and con queso are good.
Has Mr. Pink returned from San Francisco? I'm curious to read about which suggestions he followed up on.
Any details on the Italian restaurant going in beside Pier One on WBR in the old Bellancino's space?
How are they gonna put an Uncle Bud's in that stanky, nasty old Martin's BBQ joint?

Hey, nice shout-out to Tayst in that NYT story. Congrats, Jeremy -- the tour buses will be pulling up presently.....
Hungry,
I don't know if it's part of the "secret speakeasy" mystique, but ever since they opened I've wondered why PH doesn't post there menu online.
I actually had to look at their Flickr account pictures to see photos of a rudimentary menu to check it out. And that was the opening menu. It's changed seasonally since then.
Which is a long way of saying you have to go to the restaurant to see the menu.
Bombay Bistro in Cool Springs has got something going on. Call it market capitalization or just good food, but it's been packed with about 10-15 people waiting in line for a table the last 3 times I have been there.
On a sad note: The Jersey Mikes in Hermitage (Kroger shopping center) has closed. Rumor is, the one at Nashboro Village has also closed.
I hope this doesn't sound too re-freakin'-diculous on this blog, but I'm craving something from my childhood: An old-style Pizza Hut restaurant experience. Table service. Arcade games. Dim interior. Red plastic tumblers. My sister says the closest approximation is in Bellevue, but are there any others? I will do this one time, then never crave major chain pizza again.
(Specifically jonesin' for a large Pepperoni Lover's Pan pizza... bonus points for Bud Light)
Bellevue is a newer building. If you want the old style then venture west to Dickson. It's dimly light and I believe they still have a table top video game and you can still get you pictures of BL (I believe). The building hasn't changed since it was built, probably 25 years ago.
