Deaderick Street -- Innovative, Fun to Walk, and Needs Food

Deaderick Street is newly ossum -- rain gardens, LED traffic lights and parking meters, pervious paved sidewalks that absorb water rather than add to the run-off problem. It's beautiful, walkable and appealing.

Which means it needs food. There are six or eight office buildings full of state and bank workers and not much retail, so the market is big but space is short. The mobile cart approach is the right approach. Savarino's, Mas Tacos, or Tex-Mex taco, or a hot dog carts -- or maybe an all-new type of portable street food. Who can we recruit to sell sidewalk eats on Deaderick?

Please bring mas tacos to Deaderick! It would immediately be the best Mexican option downtown.

And don't forget a Paletas cart too! Especially in the hot summer!

sacrilege! hypocrites! next you'll suggest people do their posting from home! isn't all hope - and society as we know it - lost if anything is allowed that could sway the downtown working crowd to go anywhere EXCEPT the arcade at lunch?

Any growth or increase in food options will lead to increased business across all of downtown. That said, the Arcade leaves much to be desired. A new coat of paint, rehabbing of the restaurant interiors, new flooring, etc.
We need newer restaurants and street vendors to raise the bar. It couldn't get any lower.

How about a Fleur de Lis cart? How great would it be to have the Krayps guys in a mobile cart?
