Several times this summer, I've ridden with this fun new Meetup group for Sunday Stroll, a ride that starts at a bar and ends at a bar.
More recently, we had a family excursion on the Richland Creek greenway to our reward at Bobbie's Dairy Dip. Sated with butterfat, we skated back. We love that ride. It's five miles of skating, a respectable roll in fitness terms. It's completely undone by the ice cream, of course, and in the worst case scenario, we get a lift back to the car. Sitting at home would actually be a healthier choice.
Couple of weeks ago, I found a new destination when a group cycled to the Fly Grocery, where we refueled with popsicles.
I can imagine all kinds of scenarios: Music City Star to Donelson, then bike to Phat Bites. Cycle 12th Avenue to Yazoo for beer, then on to Jefferson's for brunch or Swagruha for lunch. There's the Bongo-to-Bongo-and-Back run (the diagram is also online, buried deep in the Fido website).
It's a formula that works, and we're on the hunt for your stroll-and-snack, bike-and-brunch or run-and-snarf options.
