In honor of the late great Patrick Swayze, it looks like Nashville is the site of an invasion straight out of "Red Dawn." Only this time it's not those dirty commies from the Soviet Union, it's apparently the minions of the Food Network who have set their sights on Music City.
Their reconnaissance crew was obviously part of the recent Southern Food and Wine Festival that they sent to Gaylord Opryland. The advance team apparently reported back that Nashville was an attractive insertion point because they have begun their infiltration plans in earnest.
Guy Fieri, star of three shows on Food Network including Diners, Drive-ins
and Dives is taking American food culture to new heights by combining the
worlds of food and rock-n-roll. On November 22, The Guy Fieri Road Show
is coming to the Tennessee Performing Arts Center as part of his national tour, that is hitting 21 cities in 30 days. Guy is bringing his full volume cooking show to TPAC, and for the right price (cough, $250, cough) you could even sit in VIP seats on stage with the spiky-haired Baron of Big Bites. Tickets to the show go on sale to the public today Friday, September 18. We apologize for not getting you all this information earlier, but if the show has already sold out...well, we would frankly be freakin' amazed.
Guy's bald-headed pasty pastry doppleganger Chef Duff Goldman of the Food Network's Ace of Cakes is also reaching out to you Nashvillagers. In honor of Jack Daniel's 159th Birthday Bash, Duff is sponsoring the Ultimate Birthday Cake Contest for our buddy Mr. Daniel. (Please don't add the green grocer's apostrophe "s" to his name like so many folks do to Kroger.)
