With chef Joe Shaw now at the helm, Miro District Food & Drink recently debuted a menu of seasonal Southern-style bistro fare, replacing a roster of French and Mediterranean-focused cuisine.
Shaw, an Alabama native who helped launched Watermark restaurant in 2005 and most recently reinvigorated the menu at The Standard at the Smith House, now delivers a repertoire of regional comfort food, including Carolina shrimp and grits, fried oyster salad, pork belly with grits and greens, parmesan spoonbread soufflé and sauteed chicken livers. The menu still lists several European bistro staples, including moules frites, duck confit, steak frites and a croque madame.
Located in the ground floor of the Adelicia condominium tower, Miro District serves lunch Monday through Friday, dinner Monday through Saturday and brunch on Sunday, with live music at brunch and on Thursday evenings.

I can't wait for another 4 or 5 months to pass to hear which cuisine Miro will be trying out next. I'm tempted to start a betting pool ...
with exceptions - and we know who they are - nashville sports 6 restaurants and 7 chefs and it's like musical chairs at any given time...
miro is schizophrenic. don't make fun of it. it's got a disability.
in the meantime, let's hope that they got it right this time. we want to see business's succeed in a tough economy.
I sent someone to Miro this past weekend for their anniversary -- will report when I hear from that friend.
I agree with Claudia. I'm cheering for Miro.
In no particular order my 6 (or 7) would be:
Margot
City House
Watermark
Tayst
Yellow Porch
F Scott's
Miel
How about yours?
margot, city house, tayst, zola and miel are examples of chef driven restaurants. these restaurants will never change chefs because the restaurant IS the chef.
i'm no expert on restaurants in this town and may have left out a few but this much i know is true. like them or not, they do what they do and they all have a definitive vibe.
