Since Monday is National Cream-Filled Doughnut Day, I've been keeping an eye on Krispy Kreme's Twitter feed and home page, as well as the Dunkin Donuts site. Incredible as it seems, not one single thing is going on at Krispy Kreme or Dunkin' Donuts on this momentous day despite the slogan "American Runs on Dunkin'". Same goes for Donut Den and Shipley's.

Like, what other day has a news hook that a doughnut place can use to boost doughnut consumption? Or is that "old media" thinking? But we'll stay on top of this trend and report back if we find a promotion for cream-filled doughnuts.

What wisdom would Krispy Kreme offer in 140 characters?

Has anyone tried cadging a doughnut at KK?
1050, that sounds like a joke set-up. If you've got a punchline, bring it on.
