For Best of Nashville local artist, I voted for Vadis Turner. I see her work at art shows and am knocked over by the craftsmanship even before the I get the message of roles, domesticity and other gender stuff that's sometimes food-related.
This "box of chocolates" is made from found bits: sponges, bra straps, waistbands, buttons, scraps, hair rollers. In another spectacular piece, Turner used waxed paper to make a full-length wedding gown.
Before the lamb is dinner, it's part of a flock. This video from the London Telegraph features flocks of sheep and their excellent sheep dogs creating, well, it can only be called art. You just won't believe it was possible. That's some sheep dog.
