It's a Shame We Won't Be Allowing Home Chicken Farming...

...because it looks like there may be a poultry shortage coming to town over the next few months. A new Buffalo Wild Wings location opened in Hermitage this past Monday at 5215 Old Hickory Blvd. With two more franchises slated to come on line in Mt. Juliet and Nashville West between now and the end of the year, there's liable to be a whole mess of wingless chickens walking around town.

The Hermitage location should be a big draw for the neighborhood. With it's open, airy floorplan and more than 50 televisions including eight monster projection mamma-jammas, this should be a popular spot for sports viewing just in time for NFL and college football seasons. They also promise to be big supporters of UFC fighting events so that you can get your Octagon on.

A recent lunch visit was not what you'd call relaxing, with the sensory overload of thumping music, multiple cable sports and news channels, interactive trivia and Texas Hold `Em games and lots of attractive friendly servers flitting from table to table chatting with patrons. Picture a high-tech Hooters with a slightly more conservative dress code. With 14 sauces, BW3 also offers twice the variety of their "nearly world famous" country cousin.

Opening specials include 45-cent original wings on Tuesday and 60-cent boneless wings on Thursdays, so you can actually challenge my new recent favorite meal deal. And if you're really feeling froggy, you can try their "Blazin' Challenge." Simply eat 12 wings prepared with their signature Blazin'® sauce in six minutes and you win. Easier said than done, of course, but at least you get to write your name on the wall. The bathroom stall wall.

Can you settle a dispute? My BW's loving boyfriend is convinced we'll be getting one on West End AVENUE. I argue that "Nashville West" refers to the Nashville West shopping center off I-40, where Target, World Market, Red Robin are located.
Please tell me I am right. :)

Erin,
I am delighted to be able to say that you are correct. I've heard it from the Big Buffalo himself, the regional manager.
Targeted open date of 11/27 so you can enjoy tiny little legs instead of monster leftover turkey legs on the day after Thanksgiving.
